Imam al Busayri lived in Egypt during the 13th century, but travelled and lived across the Arab world in Yemen, Jerusalem, Mecca and finally Medina, where he became paralysed. One night he sat near the resting place of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, reciting a poem that he had composed in his honour. The full title of the poem is "Celestial Lights in Praise of the Best of Creation:"
He says "I repeatedly sang the poem, wept, prayed and asked for intercession. Then I slept and in my dream I saw the Holy Prophet. He wiped my face with his blessed hands and covered me with his cloak (burdah). When I awoke, I was able to walk so I got up and left, without telling anyone what had happened. I came upon a Sufi traveller who said to me "Give me the poem in which you praise the Prophet. I swear by God that I heard it last night in a dream being sung in the presence of the Holy Prophet and he was pleased withit and covered the person who sang it with his cloak".
