  • Im pretty sure thats an i5 and not v5 i dont think they make v5. But i may be wrong....

  • @suprakilzz26 Defo a V5 mate, they still make a V5 golf now, i think you may be thinking of the IHI they did in some countries which was a larger horsepowered version of the GTI (180 instead of 150bhp i think)

  • Its all your fault.

I watched this vid and loved the sound so much that I went out and bought a Golf V5. No, honestly :) Just need to get it chipped and put a decent exhaust on it now.

Its an amazing car - and that 20valve 170bhp V5 engine is a stormer! It doesn't seem that fast because its so smooth and refined - until you check the speedo. Gulp! Combine that with an average of 31mpg and its an awesome package.

So if I lose my licence, its all your fault :)

  • @suprakilzz26 First time I've heard of these Volkswagen engines. (European only?) Well, it's got a pretty tasty sound, I've got to say! I'm guessing this is a 4-valve/cyl=20valves total...Don't quite understand the degrees of crank journal spacing or the firing order/the inherent imbalance/use of counter- rotating balance shaft (or two?) The Honda RC211 V5 racing motorcycle really sounds awesome--check out the video! & BUT 1 thing I'm pretty sure of, nobody's going to make any 7 cylinder car!

  • Those wheels are sick

  • @suprakilzz26

they did a 2.3l v5 with 150 and 170 bhp, i own one. but they are very rare

  • @stuwhipps Its not a v5, its more of an I5. It is a staggered inline 5, Similar to the older VR6 but only 5 cylinders. It only has one bank of cylinders so technically its not a V engine.

  • Sounds like a baby r32! Like it.

  • @apache1234657 It had two camshafts from the start ... they added 10 valves :D

  • @suprakilzz26 they cut one cylinder off the vr6 to make the v5 later they gave it two cam shafts for more zoom zoom

  • @stuwhipps haha thanks, but if you have noticed this question has been answered numerous times... Thanks again tho. Nice to know there's some decent ppl on youtube that will give straight forward answers rather than flaming the hell out of you...

  • @suprakilzz26 It's neither I5 or V5... "It is similar to a 'Vee' engine, but with the two banks of cylinders offset and tilted from each other by a narrow angle of either 10.6 or 15 degrees - instead of the more common 45°, 60°, or 90° as found on conventional Vee engines." -Wikipedia
