Jason's Hobby Lobby F16 RC Jet

My new (and first) RC Jet. This is a stock setup and it's plenty fast. Lightning roll-rate with big throws.

This is actually a rebuild, since I blew the maiden landing. I learned two things that day. 1) When aborting a landing slowly apply throttle and 2) If a ducted fan starts to stall on its way up its hard to get the nose down some without any air going over the tail feathers. I was coming in for a landing and was going to overshoot the runway so I jammed on the throttle and it literally rotated to 90 degrees up. With no speed behind it i tried to nose down some so I could level it out but it was unresponsive. Then came the stall and the rotation 180 degrees down right into the runway. Fortunately only the nose of the plane from the tip to right behind the intake tube was damaged. I bought a new fuselage only and cut the plane in half about 2/3s the way up and just attached the new front fuse section with some carbon fiber rod reinforcements and epoxy and it looks and flies like new.

not really. it's a good jet for someone who is starting out with jets after they have mastered a standard trainer configuration. the plane isn't built to be tough and forgiving and with its small gray profile it is easy to lose orientation if you aren't familiar with flying.

Im always afraid to fly with others here because all there planes have duct tape and bushes hanging off of them.

yeah. i think there were 3 up plus me.. it wasn't too bad, worst part is when you know you have 30 sec left to land and someone is floating down the runway and don't want to try another go-around.. thankfully its a large runway so i can normally land where i need to

That's when you YELL... LANDING lol For sure, the EDF's can't drain the battery down too much or you're screwed, gotta land when you need to. Nice flight, check out the response
