You hit the nail on the head with GERALD'S GAME. And ROSE MADDER's pretty bad too. But I really enjoyed the other three on your crap list. I was a King fanatic up until about 10 years ago. I've read over 40 of his books. The real dookie is Gerald's Game, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Desperation, The Regulators, and Mile 81 (this last pile is one of his newest). Of his newer stuff, I found DUMA KEY to be great, and UNDER THE DOME to blow a little.

i think the problem with his writing is that he overwrites. His characterizations are usually good like in It, Stand, Deadzone ( I really cared about these characters), but in his dreadful works like Insomnia, Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, Bag of Bones, Regulators, Desperation- I didn't care what happened to these characters. They were so boring that I couldn't get past one third of the book

Interesting list. I've read all of King's books and I've made a list too. Although I think everyone of his books have qualities, there are a few ones that I don't plan on reading again. I didn't care for Clairborn at all. Gerald's Game was so-so. Rose Madder I would have hated, except for Norman, who is one of my favorite villians of all time. I really enjoyed The Tommyknockers , but I know a lot of people who don't like it. To each their own. I loved Needful Things too. Thanks.

I havent read all of Kings books but i thought Dolores Caliborne and Needful things were good. I would agree that the Tommyknockers was terrible and boring.

Tommy Knockers wasn't so bad. Delores Clairborne was marginal. What about the REAL crap? The Regulators, Desperation, Bag of Bones, Under the Dome, Cell.... pretty much everything after Pet Cemetary.
