Cannon deserved the Best Supporting Actress Oscar here NOT Goldie Hawn
Think about it, Cannon is portraying a very uptight mother/housewife whose repressions have manifested themselves into self-loathing, doubt, and paranoia regarding her husband and friends during a time when sex was becoming more open and free.
Cannon's portrayal is a juxtaposition to the other cast portrayals and regards a hilarious, disquieting intensity which makes her perhaps the only three-dimension aspect of the film.
