  • When you say virtual host, that basicly means you are making a server with a different IP address on the computer that you are using hey.

  • Not exactly.  It means using several domain names on the same IP

  • I tried this and nothing happened. The default Apache page was no longer accessible, and neither was my index.html or php page. I must have missed a step.

  • I use WinCSP all the time, once the main install configuration has been setup and everythings working on and ya see the shell (I never ever install the GUI, just clashes with soo many of my server applications) also increases response times dramatically, more like a professional server in that way and use WinCSP and Putty to issue commands and change config files, makes it really easy to do Linux tasks when browsing the web for solutions to problems!

  • Be careful enabling telnet server! It's VERY unsecure. You're going to want to use SSHD which is Secure SHell server. You can use any user with an enabled account and shell to login with ssh

  • not as long as you secure you FTP and SQLDatabases with passwords no,
