@Max16032 That would cost 2000 fucking dollars. (But ReBirth, emulation software is free. And it's two 303's, an 808 and a 909. Google it).

@iunnodiapeys What I read in some interview or so is that he never used a 303 for the song but a Novation Basstation.

since no one has mentioned it, they do make software 303 emulators (obviously not better than the real thing, but still).

how much was the TB-303 when it manufactured anyway?

x0xb0xes are still being sold new (or pre-built) on e-bay, as well as kits. And the plans are available too if you can source the parts. There's one hard to find piece, but it's easily substitutable. And its not a problem to put the old piece in place of the substitute if you can get em. Other than that, they are literally copies of the 303, and don't sound more different than 2 303s would.
Basically, Roland won't bother cause x0xb0x already did.

The problem is that the old circuit components--the old transistors, diodes etc--that gave the 303 its unique sound are no longer manufactured, so Roland couldn't put the 303 back into production even if they wanted to.
There was a DIY project called the x0xb0x that was a part-by-part copy of the 303 and that kit went out of production because the parts were too hard to get.

@Envergure Yeah, I'd say the Minimoog was really the one that popularized it. The 303 is more influential for dance music though.

@iunnodiapeys it was fairly cheap back then

@WillBraden man, the 808 is a drum machine. im not saying it isnt doable, but why cut out the beautiful synth of a 303 to make another song with unnecessary 808? (youre kind of asking why somebody doesnt shoot the bassist and hire a second drummer)
