this lousy sunfire had a crappy previous owner who sucked big time at DIY work... causing the threads in the head to rip out due to an un tightened spark plug

  • Ok fellows; when you tap a hole you want to use cutting oil instead of grease, next you want to tighten the tap 1/2 turn, then back off 1/4 turn in order to dislodge the shavings. This shall ensure that you will bore your hold or repair damaged threads evenly & consistently.

I had much practice with machine fittings in my time as a UBI Bike tech.

  • @Begbucks we know this... this guys not new, hes very smart belive it or not, and im also a ticketed machinest. you are right, however you can tell we dont care about this car and just needed a quick "patch job" to send it on its way... when people dont pay, they arnt getting our professional work... luckey they got anything at all.

  • Is that your sunfire?

  • Is that your sunfire?

  • nice spark plug helicoil fix!!!

  • @Techyon pug is a goof!

  • big big success!

  • @Begbucks yes but that's after the grease caught most of it, if the grease was not there the odds of shavings staying in the engine is greatly increased. the repair tool i had said to use grease instead of oil, to catch the shavings.

ive put helicoils in a few engines over the last few years

  • @mageac But you see they blew that out for the most part, still the oil would encapsulate the shavings & friction should keep them close to the threads. Atleast so is my experience.

  • why didnt he just weld to the hex head?

  • That kid allmost fuckin broke the plug tourqueing it down!!
