  • I have this mother board, Intel Q8200, 8GB memory and GTX 260. I always used Autodesk program like 3DsMax, Rivet, Adobe After Effect, Cinema 4D and other video editing. My always problem is rendering is quietly slow. I'm planing to replace my video card to AMD V8800 or V7800, the Quadro Nvidia is to expensive.

Before I do that I just make a sure my MB and CPU is not make a problem, Please let me know if I need to change my CPU as well my to make faster and what CPU is much better. Thanks

  • @shades2 my ram does not work with slot 1 but slot 2 is ok. the thing is i no longer have that board since it died 18 months after the purchase. none of my abit board lasts and they are all dead. the asus ones i bought around the same time still works.

  • @onegreatamerican Never had dead RAM slots, had a lot of cases with RAM that boards did not want to support or run stably, which is a shame, but if your RAM worked you were going to be fine. I agree over the history of Abit manufacturing there were few boards that had much longevity in them. They were the first to suffer and repair the bad cap epidemic, but you're right about the power circuits I feel, even if not pushed that hard. All history now that Abit are no longer producing mobos.

  • @shades2 abit motherboards are not durable. problem with their design makes their power controllers vulnerable if pushed hard. Also, abit seems to have a defect in their memory controllers as well. i have had a few dead ram slots in their boards.

  • Mine lasted 3 years before it died with a 8.7. BIOS code. That was 3 years of near continuous running however and the machine had been pushed hard. Not sure what failed. Could be the uGuru chip or PWM. Could be the 12V onboard power failed somewhere.

These are a great board, particularly if you have a Core 2 Quad Extreme Edition or similar.

  • @iaqov nooooooooob

  • its a real shame you dont make motherboard reviews anymore :/
