This is some more random tape that I had from the late 80's era of the Steve & Garry show.
The first part of this is the first interview that Steve & Garry had with this excellent Harry Carey impersonator. I wish I could remember his name but he did a perfect impression of Harry Carey and his former broadcast partner for Cubs Steve Stone (kids, Google it!) There was even threatened legal action from the real Harry which was why they needed the disclaimer, probably because the impersonation was so damn perfect. (Sorry I don't have part 2, I wish I did! If you have it send me a message!!)
The second part is just some random phone calls from those days (87 or 88.) The Steve & Garry show was the first show that I know of that did unscreened phone calls, probably still one of the only shows even to this day, and sometimes it was interesting and sometimes it was a trainwreck, but it was always entertaining.
For informational purposes the Harry Carey impersonator is Chicago radio veteran Jim Volkman, certainly the best of the Harry imitators.

This stuff is fucking awesome. Nobody could touch S&G at their peak.
BTW, the Jerome Walton/Dwight Smith reference would date the "Harry" clip as from 1989. Those two were Cub phenoms that year.

Glad you're enjoying it, look for more coming soon.
And thanks for the date info, I was never into sports, probably the most I've ever learned about sports was from listening to Steve talk about it.
You're right though, no one touched S&G in their prime, even when Stern tried his short run on AM 1000 after the boys went back to FM Stern lost miserably in the ratings to S&G. Nothing like the original I guess!
Either way, funny, classic stuff, check in soon for more and thanks for commenting!
