Canon HF100 HD Test 01

Very simple test of footage I today of the HF100 that I got today. I have a lot to learn with using it and compression, etc... but couldn't wait to get something up. This is not part of the LimeBlog. Recorded in Chicago near or on the Belmont Harbor. 08.05.08. Chopped up in iMovie.

I get a lot of emails about my settings. This was done with many settings that I did not log. The file was exported/uploaded at 1280x768 resolution, 30 fps. I am mac based. I import the MTS files in iMovie 08 and then use those files to edit with on either iMovie or Final Cut Pro. I can't offer anymore information then that at this point.

imovie won't import MTS files

yes, it's what i use... it imports the mts files to another codec and then you work with those files for editing.

hey, nice footage. i have a question. if 25p is so great and makes it look like a film then why no use it all the time, why bother with 60i.

I agree, unless you are shooting something very fast action maybe... or something that you want to slow down later... may benefit.

Yeah and this is only 720p, if you deinterlace the raw footage, you actually have 1080p :P Playing the native AVCHD files on my ps3 looks B-E-A-Utiful

That first shot was REALLY shaky. You should invest in a shoulder mount or build your own. The further your hands are from the camera, the less shaky it will be.
