This is a beautifully danced and choreographed piece and Picone has a beautifully sculpted and aesthetically pleasing form why the criticism and carping. The man did a great job, danced beautifully and looks wonderfully fit and athletic and if I had a body as good as his I would show it off in a dance belt too. Picone is playing this number straight not for parody or laughs and he makes it his own. Except for the music I see little of Pavlova's Swan. He is a human.
The music is, of course, from Saint-Saens "The Carnival of the Animals" and is merely called "Le Cygne" (the word is masculine in French and in Italian). In its original context it has nothing to do with dying. Although I like Picone's dancing as a general matter, the fact that, in ballet, this music has been used for the Dying Swan since Pavlova makes it very difficult to banish all thought of parody from one's mind while watching (...and the Troc is much better at that).
Why worry about the clothing; his dance is what counts & I think he did a great job. Anyways, ballet is all about the beauty of the human physique as an art; nothing scandalous here, just some great ballet, Bravo Picone!
why is he almost naked? If he wear more cloth, would it make the dance less effective? maybe not, then why not wearing more cloth? I like his dancing, hate the costume (not much of a costume anyway, looks like just a dance belt)
he is Italian with that roman body...

Who cares about his costume? That talks about a very closed and un-appreciative mind. So sorry for them.
Let's talk about how he moves, how beautiful his dancing is
Bravo

Nope, Innocente means "Innocent".
Swan is "cigno"

As this is to the music of 'The Dying Swan', can anyone tell me whether 'innocente' is the Italian for 'swan'?
