@kigger622 Yes I understand how rare they are. I retired as a 91S50 in 2001. While 1sgt of the 48th Medical Detachment I had a soldier deploy to Ft. Irwin (5 weeks), Haiti ( 4 months) , Ft Polk (4 weeks) , Kuwaiti (6 months ) , Ft. Irwin (5 Weeks) and Ft Polk(4 weeks) all within 18 months- during peace time. I cannot imagine the current op tempo now.
I currently work as an Environmental Public Health Specialist at a County Health Department.
Ray, do you understand that 68S are very rare due to the high test scores required to be a 68S, and therefore 68S are one of the most frequently mobilized/deployed mos? 68S is a very sought after job that many want but can't get. If you're qualified, I'd recommend you take this mos
The Army changed the medical field MOS's from 91 to 68. This film was made when the MOS was still 91S.
As far as shamtastic - in many ways it is. People in this profession military or civilian seldom do the hard physical work or extremly dangerous work that the infantry do.
All soldiers in a war zone can be killed or injured. Pvnt Med soldiers would not normally be on a raid and would not be the one kicking down the door.
I swear in for this MOS on Tuesday! Any advice? And will I really be deploying that often?
