You might like to check out the film 'Shadowlands' with Sir Anthony Hopkins, Edward Hardwicke was excellent (as always) in that too.
-
Okay...yeah....crying now....that was perfect. Really makes you want to believe in an afterlife so these two can meet up again.
-
I didn't even know Hardwicke had passed. I shouldn't be surprised, but you know how you just expect people to live forever or something. I cried when Brett passed, and I'm tearful now.

In believe Edward Hardwicke was the best Watson since Conan-Doyle himself. He and Jeremy Brett will always be Holmes and Watson to millions. Hardwicke was an amazing actor (as was Brett). May they both rest in peace.

@MrDeterioration You are quite correct!

Very touching... beautiful tribute. Loved him as Watson. Thank you for posting.

Such a touching tribute. The last scene with him going into the sun was simply moving. Such a beautiful way to remember such a sensitive and wonderful man and actor.

We'll never see the likes of them again. Entertainment of the highest order.
That was a wonderful and apt tribute to Hardwicke in his role as Dr. Watson.
My compliments.

You show very well how devoted Watson was to Holmes, as well as Edward to Jeremy. Reality is very similar to fiction, and in that case, both are beautiful.

@Frenchaccro You are right; both are beautiful.
I'll never forget that Edward Hardwicke supported Jeremy in hours of his illness.
Rest in peace, Mr Hardwicke... Jeremy's fans will miss you both...

Excellent tribute that highlights the qualities of a talented and sensitive actor.
As in the last scene you hint, he's going from the fog to the sun: at his arrival may he be taken in a loving and tender hug from those who preceded him and who loved him!

@annafrancesca1 Exactly! That was my intention; to show him going to the sun - and to the true friend, who was waiting for him, somewhere in the silent land...
Thank you for beautiful comment!
