In an interview he said he thought about that, but he likes it more if he just plays as "Mark Knopfler". If they played as Dire Straits e.g. they would have to play Money for Nothing, otherwise everyone would be disappointed.

This way he can decide himself if or which of his "classics" he wants to play.
