Makoto Shinkai - Beyond The Clouds

Makoto Shinkai is a follower of Miyazaki. You will discover many similarities in their works, from the animation point of view [as in, the sky, the motion of the plants when the winds is blowing, etc]. Still, Shinkai ia the probably [if not certainly] the best at using light in his works, and the themes he adopts are light-hearted at first sight, but darker than you think.

All of the works I've seen by Makoto Shinkai seems to lack anything dramatic (or at least overly dramatic), but the detail and effort of the small, little details he puts into his works draws me in. I'm emotionally moved by everything he does, even if I can't really name why. It's like moving around in a fog, but I'm not particularily willing to leave that uncertain feeling. I love your work, Makoto Shinkai...

that's exactly why I love his work! not everything has a happy ending, the reality of his stories makes me feel alive, and yes it does give me a feeling of sadness and my chest feels tight, but for some reason makes me appreciate what I have so much more. His work is just beautiful!

First time I see this trailer of the movie and the character just voices the words that I´ve been saying in my head for about 3 weeks. This kind of things if freaky.. but .. settling in some way.
