Lets say "NO" to european money for broke Ireland!

An obligatory stipulation concerning defense matters is rather unnecessary as military support is self-evident in the obvious case of an invasion of European ground.
However it is certainly not evident in matters of preemptive war such as in the case of "the war against terror". And you might be surprised how this undemocratic clause might be used against Iran or China for instance.
We don't need to militarize the European Union. Let us not make that mistake!

Interpretations are correct. But you're saying is that the obligations put upon member states of the European Union are already in the NATO charter; if they're already there and in effect, then why do we need them in the Lisbon Treaty anyway?
-
"Blood of innocent people on my hands". You're a bid of a drama queen aren't you? I am not saying that your citation of the treaty is false; just your interpretation. It is right that member states should protect other member state. If they didn't it would make a mockery of the Union. These kind of guarantees are in the NATO charter anyway and most of Europe is in Nato. As regards us Neutrals - the protocals and Council Decisions lodged with the Treaty in Rome and at the UN guarantee neutrality.

Now here you have it, the proof is in the pudding! You should really read the treaty or at least make a google search before you denounce me as a liar.
Art. 42 III states you have to enlarge your military.
Art. 42 VII states you have to fight if the EU says there's a war on.
But you just keep voting for those elitist warmongers, congratulations! I don't want the blood of innocent people on my hands.

Article 42 of the Lisbon Treaty
7. If a Member State is the victim of armed aggression on its territory, the other Member States shall have towards it an obligation of aid and assistance by all the means in their power, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. This shall not prejudice the specific character of the security and defence policy of certain Member States.

Article 42 of the Lisbon Treaty
3. Member States shall make civilian and military capabilities available to the Union for the implementation of the common security and defence policy, to contribute to the objectives defined by the Council. Those Member States which together establish multinational forces may also make them available to the common security and defence policy.
Member States shall undertake progressively to improve their military capabilities. [...]

Enough of yr lies commanderpolska.... The EU doesn't have power to impose the death penalty on member states. The ECHR allows (but doesn't require) the death penalty in certain extreme circumstances. Anyway, it's entirely irrelevant as many countries have banned the death penalty and this is entirely consistant with the ECHR. Ireland is not obliged to participate in any EU military action. The EU does not have an army - only member states do. Please, no crap about a totalitarian superstate.
-
I don't know about your 'most' European countries, but if even one country hasn't signed the ECHR and the death penality is forced upon it by diktat out of Brussel than that is one too many.
And now that you mention the issue let me tell you this. There's no veto right for any country since Lisbon in regards to military action to be taken and that pushes members into war in an undemocratic fashion.
We really don't need this totalitarian superstate.
Let's say "NO" to EU Fascism !!!
