Perhaps the foundation of (and most well known aspect of) the HHI program is the raw living food diet that they serve in a buffet style for every meal. There is an emphasis on sprouts with this diet and in this video I show you what the average meal looks like.

The HHI diet is the highest protein diet on the planet. This is simply because plant based protein is much more easily assimilated than animal based protein. Also, when you cook ANY food you're destroying about half of the amino acids it contains (including the enzymes needed to digest it's proteins) thus lowering the protein content of animal foods again. Basically animal products are made of mostly health destroying saturated fat (or rancid fats in the case of fish), small amounts of barely usable INCOMPLETE protein and a few minerals and vitamins that are easily attainable from plants.

The HHI diet is composed of mostly sprouts and their juices (higher protein content than beef and chicken), grass juices (like wheatgrass, a complete and very high protein food), seaweeds (again very high in protein) and algae (the highest foods EVER, even more than sprouts!). These essential amino acids are fantastic for anyone who is recovering from disease, is into athletics or just wants to have peak levels of health in their life.

So the fear about a "lack of protein" can be ditched with this (or even any) raw food diet. Check out this article I recently wrote about GREAT sources of vegetarian complete protein:

  • I really LOVE to eat big green salads so is it bad if to eat large portions of it? R there people that do that?

    Do you have to add oil to ur salad I simply like a lemon Stevia mix. Can u have Stevia while there and do they offer lemon?

  • @aubreyschannel You can definitely eat large salads. You don't have to add oil to your salad no and they do have lemons available. They have stevia out as well, people add it to their tea.

  • Hey Zak. How are you? just a quickie that you may or may not be able to help with. I have started implementing a lot, or most, of the dietary suggestions that Brian Clement advocates and apart from loosing stacks of weight, I seem to feel really weak most of the time. I understand that there will be some kind of detox occurring, but my friend is freaking out saying that the diet will not provide me with enough calories. Don't really understand calories and just wondered what you thought? :-)

  • @lbt6555 I hear ya on the calories thing ;) I found it diffuclt while there, and realistically, if you're doing just greens and green juice with nuts and seeds, you're going to have to make sure you're eating a lot of sprouted grains and beans etc, or incorporate some cooked starch or even a bit of fruit (unless you're avoiding simple sugars for disease recovery).

    Make sure you're also getting high protein algae into your body to help balance blood sugar.

  • Now you're talking my language! I only wish we could establish hippocrates diet vegan centers around the world, so that it could be easier to maintain when people go home. Also in a communal type atmosphere, there would not be such a high cost factor in currency or time. This is one of my dreams.

  • i lived down the street from HHI,i would go there a couple times a month for the buffet,those olives were the best i ever had. Sooooooo good! I miss it !!

  • @aryelito1 You can eat as much as you can fit on your plate, and they're huuuuuge plates. Yes they do advocate wheatgrass everyday for as long as you can!
