Little known historical interview here. First time in almost 8 years since Hogan won the WWF belt that Ric Flair was acknowledged.

The biggest star in wrestling history, not even close to a top wrestler but there has never been anyone bigger.

Also, there was a pretty huge shift in the Hulk Hogan character 1991 on. He was saying - like trying too hard? - that Hulkamania was "stronger than ever", but he wouldn't make audacious claims or statements anymore "I'm back boys!", nor would he channel the Venice Beach braggart and Gym Rat that he did so well in the Tuesday Night Titans programs. This is when Hulkamania became boring, and when I think the WWF was aiming for the youngest demographic. Too safe, and not a menace even to heels.

good points, but I'm not sure that he COULDN'T keep his heat through losing, I think Hogan may have been afraid that he couldn't as the years went on. The character was a super hero, but how do you make a super hero lose? He did lose and keep heat (I think) pre-WM IV, and also with VI because he had the Earthquake program. The Undertaker bits in 1991 really screwed things up. It should have been a Ric Flair program the whole way.

Please, get a grip on reality. Point out the Tooth Fairy, but why not mention Scorpion King, Rundown, Gridiron Gang, The Game Plan, Get Smart--movies that made serious money. He's constantly getting respectable roles and was far too talented to stay in wrestling. You should take the educated out of your name, because you're talking way over your own head and don't even have a clue what you are saying.

    - Partner, if "hollywood calling for him" means that he wears a little lingerie outfit in his latest Tooth Fairy movie like some faggot, then he should have stayed in wrestling. You try so hard to make the bread, wine, and circus of whore-wood sound great, but anyone with half a brain knows what type of liberal, bastard baby producing, family destroying, divorce court specials, most of those celebrity freaks truly are. The Rock looks like a big faggot in a teddy night gown.

agreed. Hogan may have had the greatest impact of any wrestler ever, but he wasn't the best of all time because: 1-He had to always win. He couldn't keep his heat through losing. 2-His matches were always the same thing (at least when he was a face) 3-He tried to be a TV entertainer other than Wrestling. He couldn't. You know who did...the Rock. The Rock would lose, The Rock could wrestle ANY kind of match and he was too talented to stay in Wrestling...Hollywood called for him
