ok first off his mother never died. second if you like avatar so much then pay attention. when zuko confronts his father and informs him that he is switching sides zuko's father tells him that his mother is bannish.. its in the 4th book 1st or 2nd chapter. get the facts straight before putting out bad info.

Ursa was Avatar roku's daughter who was from the fire nation but moved to his own island when his friend became firelord and wanted Roku to team up with him to take over the world in the name of the Fire nation. Ursa was banished and she is more than likely living on her fathers island because in the series, they only show the island once and that's when Zuko is reading the letter that Iroh sent to him about his past and after that they never showed the island again.
