  • It is really annoying that some folks feel an urge to bash a musician instead of listening to the music. What do we care if he looks like a shaman or a new age weirdo? Is there some sort of uniform to play folk music? Would you like him to wear a tuxedo or a business suit? And finally, man: pedophiles are not particularly noted for their hippy hairstyle...

    Grow up!

  • For you who criticize this man in such childish way I say - look in the mirror and you will see a deadshit. Cooney has more talent in his little finger than you could ever have and is a wonderful human being. I have known him for over 25 years.

  • this is the the closest i've heard to the song i remember first hearing on one of my dad's flatpicking vinyls kicking mules presents or something. anyway props to this guys he does a beautiful job of bringing this piece of music to life.

  • @elrossothematch ..........yes its spelt the English way, Sheemore, and it is in the middle of the County not far from Carrick on Shannon....(the late Turlough is buried in Kilronan Cemetary, about 10 miles off), ........you'd be welcome round that part of the country if ever visiting.......

  • @shteamroller Is that true man? Where abouts in Leitrim is that?

  • Steve Cooney....world class guitar man , this tune was written by Turlough O Carolan for the harp and it relates to 2 places in my native County Leitrim..Ireland. Turlough would be well pleased with Steves playing. I believe..

  • Great stuff, great musician.

I learned this on the fiddle when first starting out, my music teacher called it, "she begs for more."

  • This man has nothing but love in his heart and what a musician he is fantastic

  • @Frakfayt Well said !

  • Reminds me of the way I'd rearrange/embellish a classical tune on guitar! This is great, anyone that could bash on this guy prolly aint an artist themselves, if they were, they'd understand and appreciate if naught else

  • Absolutely virtuosic performance! Who cares how he happens to appear to someone's eye? He is SATURATED in this music!!
