The recent deaths of at least seven children, from Argentina's Wichi Indigenous community, have been attributed to malnutrition and dehydration.

Throughout South America, indigenous communities are often among the poorest, and much of the land they used to inhabit has been taken over for farming.

Although Argentina produces more than enough food, and the government has launched an emergency plan to prevent more deaths, in some areas children are still in desperate need.

Al Jazeera's Teresa Bo reports.

  • @tzolol " If they didn't,you wouldn't be here, would you? " I hate that argument. If I wasn't here, then I wouldn't be able to think about that scenario, would I? I think that people should not have children if they cannot afford them, how am I the bad guy for saying this? When I say we are not animals, I obviously mean in the sense that we have the ability to rationalize and make better decisions. I hate seeing children suffer and die just because their parents were to dumb to not fuck.

  • "they can't feed their children, yet the continue to fuck like animals. I mean come on we're not dogs. we shuldnt have kids just becuz we can"

Why not, maybe not in a developed country, but outside of it...it's all about survival, isn't it? Your ancestors starved and lived at times of famines, but they still fucked and had many kids and high infant mortality, so there is a chance their genes will survive. If they didn't,you wouldn't be here, would you? We are animals, you fool

  • @dabestmkg Most of the times it's because they are fed religious beliefs against constraception like 'using a condom is against god's will'. Catholicism is very popular in South America, specially in Argentina. When you make a person believe that to get water you need to pray rather than go search for it, it doesn't surprise me that they don't think that all of their actions have consequences. When they have sex, and give birth they believe they are doing the right thing.

  • @KpopManiacSFL Yes! My point exactly. They keep the people poor and ignorant. Better to deceive them with lies and half truths. Just hope these recent revolutions allow the people to find the truth.

  • That blonde reporter is hot

  • indians... cant say i care... yeah i sound like an asshole but i just dont.

  • big boobs blonde reporter

  • @helioncry i said that because clearly you dont give a shit if a child is born into extreme poverty. i didn't mean it as if i know your sex life. I'm just comparing how both u and these argentines don't think it's wrong to bring children into such an environment. idk what why these people are so destitute but i know that they shuldn't have kids. also if u lose ur job of course u shuldn't neuter urself but u shuldnt be having kids either. these people can't understand their mistake. thats y.

  • so sad. there is no excuse for this.
