@catcrazy710 The reason many die hard HP fans are voting for the HP Alliance is because the HP alliance stands for the same values that the Harry Potter books do. I didn't see Harry Potter Alliance in the list of charities & think, oh cool, I like Harry Potter, I'll vote. I've seen the things that the HP Alliance has accomplished & I trust the staff members to use that money as best as possible. Causes need understanding & people can achieve that through HP as so many people understand it.

I think this is great and seeing and participating in Help Haiti was one of the most inspiring moments of my life! I think it's silly to say HP Alliance doesn't deserve their votes because Harry Potter fans are voting for it. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan but I wouldn't vote for something I didn't support just because it had Harry Potter in the title. One of the HP Alliance's biggest strengths is the network of fans, a reason they could use the money effectively and with a huge impact.

@catcrazy710 the HPA's work has likely saved thousands of lives in Haiti and protected thousands of civilians in Darfur and Burma from being raped. We have educated over 100,000 young people across the world on issues of genocide. And our members have tremendous heart just as the members of other organizations - who we support in our words and our deeds.
