2005 Nextel - Multicar wreck and Kevin Harvick and Joe Nemechek confrontation - Part 1

I saved the best for last in this two-part segment.

Near the end of segment 1 coming off turn 4 Tony Stewart got into Joe Nemechek who got into Kevin Harvick taking out Kasey Kahne, Michael Waltrip, Terry Labonte, Martin Truex, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and Carl Edwards.

Harvick blames Nemechek for the wreck with both arguing in the infield and in middle of Harvick interview. Tony Stewart gives his account of the crash in the interview while Michael Waltrip sounded hilarious trying to direct away from the wreck to Brian Vickers spinning Mike Bliss out at the Nextel Open in his interview.

Forget about home-field advantage or show-offs or Hawaiian vacation. It's wreckers or checkers for a million dollars. NASCAR All-Star race is the only All-Star exhibition in sports that matters.

I am going to assume that you know nothing about Ricky Rudd, he raced with his eyes taped open because his eyes were so swollen, he won with third degree burns on his back while the temp inside his car was over 140. When he and Kevin harvick were going to fight at Richmond that time, Ricky's crew had him physically pinned to the car because he would have ripped Kevin's head off. My cousin built his house and he came out to see the progress and wouldn't speak to him or his building crew. Told the contractor that "he didn't want to be bothered with autographs. It's been years since I seen this incident, it was pretty much my first Nascar fight and it was pretty cool. I was a fan of Joe back in those days because he was on an independent team and was somewhat competitive. I couldn't stand Harvick back then because he was angry at the world back in that period from late 2001-2005.

I respect Kevin now though for standing up to Kyle Busch, their Darlington incident was on my 18th birthday so it stands out in my mind. He's matured a lot since this.

Nemecheck was pretty much just as good as Harvick back then. he won races till he lost his ride. they dont call him front row joe for no reason

Harvick was pissed about Daytona. Plain and simple. He carried a grudge all the way till May about it. This was just a boil-over point. Stewart took the blame saying he hit him. Joe later admitted in a interview on radio that he was "loose up off and got out of it for a second and just got ran over." It's a racing deal, that's part of the sport. No one is on crack.
