Coyote Hunting in Utah

I have heard that before "True men dont shoot coyotes". I am pretty sure it was on a PETA xmas card.
The gopher was sacred to indians too. Cows are sacred to people in India but I love to eat them. What is cruel to one person is another persons entertainment. I dont know why people have to watch a hunting video then complain about it.

@wolf05374 nah coyotes can be hunt year round wit no permit

Theres a reason these animals are "unprotected" in Utah.....cuz theres too many of them as it is and were keeping their populations down. Cruel, It may be but whats the alternative, the government used to set out traps to kill them.....(goats milk in a container with a nipple burried in the ground, and when the nipple was pulled up on the device would blow the head off the critter. WOrked good until they realized horses and cows were gettin heads blown off more. God Bless everyone

@DaveAffleck I have been hunting in Utah for years and never been able to call in a coyote! Must be REALLY trying the wrong places, you need to show me where I can get them!

@Piratewuver That's a decoy. A stuffed jackrabbit skin.

There are so many around where I live just North of Hwy 30 & 23 by Mendon. Do you need a permit to hunt them? I worry about my livestock, horse/ foal and chickens.

No permit required, no season, no limit. You can hunt them 365 days a year.

Wow. I've got a .17 HMR, and I wasn't at all expecting those coyotes you shot to drop like a rock in the first round! Well done! Were you using 20 gr FMJ? Or 17 gr polymer tips?

No, no, no... I'm using a .17 caliber CENTERFIRE. And a large one at that. Comparing it to the .17 HMR is like comparing a .220 Swift to the .22 Long Rifle rimfire. The rifle I'm using has more energy left at 600 yards than the HMR does at the muzzle.
