@TheNantucketSniper The problem is with the quicktime codec required to view and edit mp4/mov videos. The codec from Apple isn't fully compatible with all mp4/mov formats.
The easy solution is to use the free converter I show in my YouTube video, ''Solve Mp4 mov video problems using this free Cineform converter'

I have the opposite problem

@guerillabill nevermind I found out that just installing QuickTime fixes your mp4 problem in Sony Vegas and it works now. So if you guys are having trouble here's your fix.

@XXTeamCORE The problem is with the quicktime codec required to view and edit mp4/mov videos. The codec from Apple isn't fully compatible with all mp4/mov formats and is very CPU intensive which slows down preview playback.

@TheNantucketSniper Sony removed the patch from their site, because it was only for Movie Studio 8, and people were trying to use it on newer versions.

@guerillabill It works with sony vegas pro 10?

@XXTeamCORE No. The Sony software patch only works with Sony Movie Studio 8. Not any version of Vegas Pro. The problem is with the quicktime encoder. You can try installing a newer version of Quicktime, or use the solution I show in '''Solve Mp4 mov video problems using this free Cineform converter'
