Part 1/2

Rory went to the orthodontist, where she got her braces off. Then she was off to the salon. She got her hair cut and got some layers put in, something she had never had done before. The next stop was the optometrist so that she could replace her glasses with contacts. After all, Joe had told her that she had pretty eyes... why not show them off?
When she got those, it was finally time to hit the mall. She didnt want a really drastic change, but she really wanted to look beautiful. She and Mrs. Jonas walked into Macy's, where she found a pair of dark skinny jeans and a pretty orange blouse that really brought out the color of her eyes. She bought some cute heels to match and then she was ready to go. She went to get changed inside the mall bathroom, and when she walked out Mrs. Jonas smiled.
Mrs. J: RORY! You look absolutely stunning!
Rory: are you sure? I feel stupid.
Rory looked down at her new clothes, which she had to admit looked pretty good on her slender frame.
Mrs. J: I am positive. You look beautiful. You are going to have all the boys at school drooling today, especially my son.
They both laughed and then it was time for Rory to head into school. As they were approaching the school, Rory kept getting more and more nervous. She really wanted Joe to be surprised when he saw her, and she really wanted to make him look at her like she looked at him.
When they pulled into the parking lot, she took at deep breath and gathered up her school books. She looked at her watch and noticed this was her and Joe's lunch period, which was a good thing... that meant that she could talk to Joe alone.
Mrs. J: I'll see you later honey, knock him dead!
Rory: thanks for everything Denise.
Mrs. J: it was my pleasure... now go get my son!
Rory chuckled and then she made the long walk to the lunchroom. When she got to the door of the cafeteria, she made sure that she looked alright and then she slowly opened the door, taking a deep breath. When she walked in, everyone stopped talking and turned to look at her, and she just stood there frozen. All of the guys were looking at her, practically drooling.
She scanned the room, looking for Joe. Finally, she saw him.
Rory's POV:
I finally found his face in the crowd. He was talking to his friend Paul, not even looking at me. Paul noticed me standing there, and he hit Joe and the arm and pointed at me. Joe slowly turned his head and looked towards me, before his eyes finally met with mine. There was a smiled playing around the corner of his lips and he looked shocked. He just stared at me, almost like he was seeing me for the first time. It was almost like he was looking at me with love... but that was just wishful thinking I guess. I walked over to where Joe was sitting and sat down across from him. He just kept on staring at me and I looked down embarrassed. I bit my lip and then tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. I wish I knew what Joe was thinking...
Joe's POV:
Paul and I were talking about our English class when he suddenly hit my arm and gestured towards the entrance of the cafeteria. I turned my head to see what he was pointing at. Then I fell silent. There was a beaut- OH MY GOD! That girl was RORY! A smile played around the corner of my lips and I saw her blush. I couldn't help but stare; she just looked so... so different. Her hair was curly, falling effortlessly over her shoulders, and she had gotten contacts instead of wearing her glasses. She had on a new outfit, that even though it was different, was still totally her, and she looked gorgeous. Wait! Did I just say that? Or think that?! Gosh Joe, get yourself together! She came and sat down across from me and all I could do was stare. She bit her lip and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.
"Wow..." I said, not knowing what to really say. Wow! That is what you say Joe that was smooth! Gosh I am an idiot!
You know, it's weird... I never thought that I would feel nervous around Rory...but for some reason... I do... My hands are starting to sweat and my heart is beating really fast. God, what is wrong with me?!
