This is a magnitude -5 Iridium flare I saw on the morning of April 6, 2009. Find flares in your area with heavens-above.com. This happens when an Iridium satellite reflects sunlight back to a specific location on Earth. They can be predicted very accurately. This one showed up at the exact place and time as the website said it would.
I wish I had a vial of iridium, just for the novelty value.
Trouble is, there's only a few pounds of it on the planet.
