Not my neatest install job but better than any hack!

Got it connected the next day by a licensed tec, everything passed inspection!

  • In North America, many off-grid homes and cabins using solar power, use MSW inverters to make AC power.

(Since MSW inverters cost about 1/4 the price of true sinewave power inverters).

Have you heard of anyone with a "Inverter type" (DC motors) mini-split AC heat pump, that is using a MSW inverter to power it?

    Cheers,

    Rich

  • @Xringer not that I know of sorry,,,

  • With you guys talking about pulling a vacuum, with a split like that you can just gas purge, it is frowned at but it would suit what your doing. Your close to do doing everything yourself, why pay a tech coin from your pocket for something you can do!

  • @VRF410A normally yeh, I can hook up a vac pump myself then do it right, but they wanted a tec to give it the okay. it didn't cost anything tho.

I keep the home hobby HVAC at home, systems for other people I like to get certified.

  • how mcuh did it cost to get vacuuming done?

  • @azndaudau nothing, we know enough HVAC tec's to get most things done free.

  • @VRF410A I have heard from a few people that a gas purge on R-410A systems is a bad idea.

They say R-410A is VERY sensitive to the slightest bit of moisture.

My advice to a DIYer, who can't hire a pro, just bite the bullet and spend $400-$500 and get the vac pump,

micron gauge and a cheap Paintball Nitrogen tank (regulated to 800psi) for pressure testing.

Need a day for a DIY mini-split install, but you should spend 2 extra days on the line-set..

A 24 hour pressure test, then vac it good.

  • @Aussie50 Thanks for the reply.. I'll have to keep looking..

I have a spare outdoor unit (leaks needs repair), that I can take apart and check for 60hz transformers etc.

Even if I find some, there is a good chance they will work with MSW power..

I've got a feeling that I'm not the first person who wanted to use a Sanyo ASHP with MSW power.. :)

    But, one never knows..

    Cheers,

    Rich

  • Зачем его нужно было опускать на землю, на таком железе можно и так было прикрепить его; для чего такой толстый короб из жести, в продаже есть пластиковые, намного лучше и удобнее, отверстие в стене можно было сделать специальной коронкой по металлу.

  • hey Aussie wonder if there's a good and cheap Tech who doesn't charge an arm and a leg.to install a split air con. let me know ....thanks.....

  • DPCU's?
