I'm curious if anything special was done to the voice of the person who played the spirit of Christmas past. It is beautifully haunting.

I don't know for sure, but it sounds as if the speaker is close miked, which gives the sound a lot of 'bite'. It also may be slightly slowed down.

@blueunicorno8 it was never specified in the book. I think that was the intention here, too, but they used a female voice actress.

There was always one thing I noticed about almost half of the movie adaptations esp. after reading the book, was that they always leave out his sister Fran. I know maybe one or two that still include her in, but all the other movie adaptations I have seen so far have always left Ebeenezer's sister out of the storyline. I never liked that, seeing how when she died giving birth to Fred, it kinda cemented the tense relationship the two of them had, because he reminded him of his sister.

I have read the book and whenever I watch the movie adaptations there is one thing that bugs me, they always exclude the scene where Ebenzer's sister Fran visits him, because she was so close to him, and then she died giving birth to Fred which was one of the reasons why he was always so bitter towards his nephew. I know one movie put it in, but almost all of the other movie adaptations always leaves that part out and I thought that was kinda important to the relationship he had with Fred.
