Before I put together my latest 24 hour session in Rhode Island I wanted to do my part to help out one of my favorite youtube bloggers, Back of the Landing Net. Chris and Jay are not only great anglers but they are funny and good natured fellas, who are currently donating much of their time and money to putting together a charity fishing match to raise money toward cancer research. I wanted to help get the word out in the hopes that my subscribers, who may not also watch them might find it in their hearts to donate to this great cause. Below are a few links with more information! You can also check out their video here ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHACaUjKZhU ) and their official website, which I help moderate :) here ( http://www.backofthelandingnet.co.uk ). Be sure to stay tuned after the message for my 24 hours session in Rhode Island chasing some big mirror carp.

"Chris and Jay know first hand about Cancer and how it can affect families and friends, as they have both lost Grandparents. Infact, at some point Cancer affects all of us in one way or another.
The lads will be organising a charity carp fishing match, with all of the tickets being made available on auction and all profits going to Cancer Research, also anyone wishing to donate towards the cause can do so here. As an example, if everyone who watched the episodes in the first week, gave a pound, then we would have over £2000 immediately. Back Of The Landing Net viewers have a huge part to play here.
Everybody who donates on this page will be in a draw for the last pair of tickets - to be announced a week before the match. If we mannage to raise £2000 prior to the match, Chris and Jay will present and marshall the episode dressed as Batman and Robin.
This is a charity that both Chris and Jay are very passionate about and are keen to raise money for and hopefully together, we can all make a bit of difference and raise some money for a truly great cause."
So please donate anything you can spare, even if it is a dollar, or a pound or whatever currency you use...every bit counts!
Furthermore be sure to check out Colin at Katch Karp who has been setting up special Ebay auctions which all proceeds from go to the cause and donating various bits as well for the match.

@ROBM1093 Ahhh..makes more sense! Nope, it is a Sportspal 12' Pointed Aluminum canoe. It is probably pushing 30 years old, gone through a couple of hands and still going strong!
