A scallop border gives a beautiful feminine appeal to a girl's room. In this video, Painting Stylist, Maura Garrity from Pottery Barn Kids shows how to draw and paint a scallop border in order to style your girl's room.
To create this design all you need is a measurement tool, some stencil film, a cutting surface, a stencil brush with short stiff bristles, an X-acto, a compass, blue painter's tape, an angled painter's brush, and a pencil. Here, Maura uses three paints from Benjamin Moore; a light pink, a dark pink and a green. Pottery Barn Kids has a complete list of Benjamin Moore Paints with sweet pinks and blushing lilacs perfect for a girl's room.
To make the scallop shape she uses the stencil film and cuts it out with the X-acto. Maura starts by painting the wall with a base coat and let it dry completely. She then draws a horizontal line along the wall and paints the dark pink on the bottom half of the wall. To create the ornamental scallop border, Maura uses the stencil and dabs on the green paint using to make the design along the line. The result is
a stunning wall art for your girl's room that no one can miss.
