You act as though
You were a blind man who's crying
Crying `bout, all the virgins that are dying
In your habitual dreams
You know, seems you need more sleep
But like a parrot in a flaming tree
I know, it's pretty hard to see
And I'm beginning to wonder if it's time for a change

But still you try like a fat boy
Dancing Gershwin's blues
But you'd rather sit at home and watch the news
And I'm beginning to wonder if it's time for a change
I'm beginning to wonder if it's time for a change

  • Judd/Tim Finn combo is true brilliance - this album produced by the great Phil Manzanera from Roxy Music and Eno. Maybe we need to start a movement for a Reunion to play this album/mental notes again live -, I'm sure between Australia and NZ there be a lot of interest !! Starts here now with your "thoughts"

  • thanks, this is sublime Tim finn

  • @gedbag I love the Enz and early Genesis. people think my music likes are a bit odd. glad I'm not alone!

  • @APCOONEY I'm a massive Spit Enz and Early Genesis fan. I think there is something about it!

  • Finally liked/favourited in on YT. Had this on tape for ages,The Second Thoughts version is in many ways superior to Mental Notes, though both are unique. This version of TFAC is the best, for the epic climbing guitar and the better vocals. Heard this first on the double album compilation from about 88 or so. Better production thanks to Manzanera.

  • Does anybody think this sounds like early Genesis with Peter Gabriel?

  • it sounds a bit like queen

  • Absolutely brilliantly bizarre. The most underrated band ever.

    Thanks.

  • I still love the early Split Enz, so unique, so special, ahead of their time, wow.

  • Me too

  • @MrJezno I take it you are referring to events of a year ago and I agree.
