I would suggest an SG style guitar like an ESP Viper, if you want the Kim Thayil sound, you also might want a chorus pedal, a fuzz pedal and a marshall or mesa boogie amp.

hey so i want to get a more "grungy" kind of sound. im getting a guitar for xmas so what would you (or anyone) suggest me getting? also includes pedels, amps, etc.

this sounds like what jerry cantrell's Boggy Depot was supposed to be.
he shoulda just let soundgarden do that album for him

Can't tell if it's the mic position, but you need just a little more crunch to that guitar tone, almost got it. Good shit, keep it up

Dude, I enjoyed your guys' cover. Was just learning how to play it myself and listening to the video of the original when I saw the link to your video. Sounds pretty good to me, keep on keepin on.
