Thirsty and Miserable was a cover song that was originally done by their SST label-mates, St. Vitus. Great song.

As far as Black Flag being "Straight Edge", far from it. Greg Ginn was a heavy pot smoker, as were the rest of the band, besides Rollins of course. Henry did experiment with LSD back then, but he's never been into drinking or smoking at all. Check out his book, "Get in the Van", all kinds of interesting stories about touring with Black Flag.

given the trend that Rollins shorts have gotten longer over the years i believe they got so long they're called "pants" now : ) and a good thing too i don't think his comedy routine would go over too well with those bad boys on....then again that might make it funnier...?

That's a hyperbole. An exaggeration, yes. But Black Flag got hammered. Weekly. You lose.

Read what I wrote before telling me I "lose" (I didn't know it was about winning and losing). I wrote BF were NOT straightedge but there was sarcasm in their lyrics.
