Mossy Swamp Kirin Creature at the Maker Faire, San Mateo, May 30, 2009

This was, er, a free-range exhibit at the Maker Faire. A little research on the Maker Faire website (http://makerfaire.com/pub/e/2584) has revealed that the man in the video wearing the lab-like coat with the lacing in the back was one of its creators. I don't know anything more about this creature than what I could gather from watching it move outside: it consists of a scaffold that incorporates two pairs of stilts, a (relatively small) person, and possibly some independent mechanism (using levers or pulleys?) to move the head. It entirely enchanted everyone who encountered it, child and adult alike. More info on its enigmatic makers is at http://seabatstudios.blogspot.com/
