  • @GildedWildebeest Many pumps use to have the locking tab, where you could go away and the pump would automatically stop once the tab was let loose. So customers could go back in their car and talk, go to the washroom etc... Most pumps in Vancouver don't have that . You have to physically hold the handle.

  • @girlie347 well that just make sense at all and is not relevant nor true.

  • @bobcheese427 more like your immature teen brain believes in fairy tales and cannot handle the truth

  • these jerks are totally wrong. i have personally seen a fire at the pump caused by a person useing a cell phone while pumping gas.

  • I saw a video on Galileo Extreme, a show on CBS Prime, India, where they demonstrated that a cell phone CAN cause a fire at a Gas/Petrol station(a German Gas station setup). I cannot locate the video on the internet. If you can, please share!

  • Our very own Bob Renkes of PEI debunks the myth. Go Bob

  • @GildedWildebeest Maybe your wallet is still in the car. Here in Germany, for example, we have virtually no "prepaid" style gas stations, you always go into the shop to pay after you've filled up. You see people going back into their cars to fetch their wallet a lot.

  • Why would you get back in the car while you fill up?

  • I remember this episode! In the test cell phone, they saved their contact as "Danger" so it would say "Danger calling..."

  • @albeanmagz19 its not a big deal though
