How to make 1 gallon of organic hard cider in about 5 minutes with $2 in equipment and about $6 worth of ingredients. NOTE: I forgot to add Pectic Enzyme, which you will most likely want to do. More info at the link below.

This recipe is usually very drinkable in about 1 month, with a light carbonation and some residual sugar. It's important to seal the bottle with a love bear.

Here is some additional detail and a slightly different recipe.

  • Important question. Did you sanitize all the equipment before and during your process? I've always had bad results just "winging" it. My cider didn't turn out so well.

  • @wingmanalive i just clean everything with soap and water, and then wipe it down with white vinegar. what was the problem with your cider, and what exactly did you do?

  • so im a little confused i have a few questions 1. I dont have a juicer and they're not cheap so can i just use non concentrated apple juice for the fresh juice or do i need use apples like that and puree them 2. did you cut the hole in that cork or did you buy one with a hole 3. does this need to be set in a climate controlled area at a certain temp or just blocked from sun light

  • @Thingsneed2bsaid 1. you can use organic apple juice by itself. 2. i bought the airlock with the plug for about $2, you can get them online. 3. i don't have a climate controlled area, I just cover the jug by taping a brown paper bag around it. there is more info in my article - the link is in the video comments under the video.

  • Using this recipe, without pectic enzyme, what is the approximate alchohol percent?

  • @SVenetor i don't remember but think it was a little over 8%.

  • Now, Can I add sugar to 100% organic apple juice and cover it with a bag and expect it to become drunk drink? I didnt see you add yeast? where did you get the cork thing? why did you put vodka in that little thing on top and then say "we dont mind if it gets in there" if it ISNT SUPPOSED TO GET IN THERE, why put it in there? THANKS

  • so how much gets your drunk?

  • If you went to the local brew store for the airlock, why not just pick up some brewers yeast? It will probably finish a bit faster. Might be stronger too....

  • @souncivilized I don't know and I wish I did. I used sanitizer throughout the process and always made sure the container was airtight with the only breathing done through the airlock. After I bottled it had a very bad smell. I could taste the alcohol but the flavor was too off to keep. NEVER had a problem brewing beer. Every batch of beer came out great. Just the cider didn't though.

  • @souncivilized

I was going to start one today but I got distracted in a few political debates. What I wanted to do is when the cider was finished, Harvest the yeast (SLURRY) & use it to make a hard lemonade.
