I don't trust the state to decide who lives and dies. I also know that a life sentence is often shortened. Many argue that a life sentence is a more severe than death. If we don't trust the state to administer death, why trust them to administer life sentences? Murder should be prevented by allowing people to conceal & carry weapons so murderers can no longer pinpoint defenseless victims. Murderers should be identified as outcasts by freely competing agencies, & left to struggle on their own.

I trust the state to administer life sentences because they can be overturned if new evidence comes to life, and separates them from the population

If you want to exile them on a desert island instead, I don't see how that's much different. Don't think I'd trust a for profit entity to do it.

As for concealed weapons, I'm generally for it, but have no idea how effective it actually is. Wouldn't give up police protection

When people say "for profit" theyre usually referring to a business that competes with others to sell a product or service for a price greater than the cost of production. In this case, price & profit serve as vital numerical indicators that precisely measure how well the company is meeting consumer desires so it can adjust accordingly. Conversely public services have no price system or profit with which to measure this. So they drive blind to our needs & desires & thus fail to meet them.

I'll never understand the way people vilify "for profit" entities. Every human on this earth is a  "for profit" entity. They seek value, exchanging countless things they value less for countless things they value more. And by doing so, make a profit. That's why they look for sales at the supermarket. Government is a "for profit" entity. Politicians seek power, re-election, pay increases, book deals, etc. Bureaucrats seek power, job security, benefits, etc. Everyone seeks profit.

Great video. The part of one nation under god. I believe in being tolerant, but it would be nice if religious people could also be tolerant of atheists, as well. And he never said he personally should determine who lives or dies. It's obviously the judicial system that does that (and yes, if it were functioning correctly, thousands more murderers would be disposed of).
