does the msi wind have a mouse pad or something cause it looks like it dosn't, would you recomend the msi wind over the asus eee pc 1000?

Yes it has a mouse pad... the material it uses blends in with everything. I would recommend the Wind. If you go on engadget, they show the wind with the newer ASUS models torn apart and found the Wind uses more quality parts. Also, ASUS is building so many variations of the EEE Pcs, its kind of pain to try to pick which model you would want. ASUS has lost touch. Go with the Wind!

Great video! Just wondering, do you suggest going out and purchasing a 3-cell model immediately? or waiting for the 6-cell (assuming they actually come out with a 6-cell)?

I don't start classes until Sept, so I can technically wait, but given how hot these things have become they sell out fast.

Thanks!!! Proline, I would recommend to wait for the 6 cell. I was going to wait, but I needed a new notebook for work. The battery last about less than 2.5 hours on the 3 cell on boot up. It will show 96% remaining on a fresh battery after everything is loaded and of course, drains faster on WIFI and videos. But, you can always buy one and the buy the 6 cell battery from their site and use the 3 cell as a back up.

I saw eee PC901 today and I hated those new logo design that they had on it just like you've said.(coolest thing about 901,standard battery lasts for 8 hours.wow.)Nice to know there are some people like you who notices and cares about little things like logo designs or typefaces used etc.I might settle for msi in the end.Nice vid!.

the difference between the prices is pretty big. so i went for the asus^^

i mean, thats the situation in germany: asus701 ~150€, the cheapest wind ~350€.

eventhough the keyboard, the display and everything else seems to be better, i'm confident that its worth the moneysaving :)
