Near Miss Idiot

Last year I had a bike accident at this very same junction. Basically it is a straight road where the town council decided to put in a restriction to favor traffic leaving the town. Apparently the reason was to slow traffic down in the interest of safety. This has caused many accidents, including my own, because impatient drivers can't wait for the oncoming traffic to pass. Although in this clip only 3 cars go around the obstacle, when I had my accident a fourth car pulled out and nearly hit me causing me to swerve and loose control. The idiot never stopped.

I have contacted the council's road safety only to get an email back saying there has been no accidents reported there and there is no problems, etc. If it was traffic lights instead, would people obey them?

An ill conceived "traffic calming" island. It was put there in the hope of slowing down traffic but all it does is cause trouble.

What country is this I don't think they have them in the US they use speedbumps where people have to slow down to go over them

Totally agree bad driving does kill. My grice is Councils which build in slower speed accident hot spots that are likely to create an accident by catching drivers out.

Possibly but IMO some cagers don't give a f***. I'm Manx and my dad told me to always keep left indicate and give them room.

Maybe it's more bikes are common and people know how ro deal with bikers over there.

Having been away from the UK for a few years I was shocked to see people doing this shit when I returned - and it wasn't once or twice - it happened really often. I think it's a symptom of just how selfish people have become.
