Based in Shanghai, Mr. Xu heads up a team that is responsible for product management, client solutioning and business development for the TS China business.

Mr. Xu assumed his current role in 2006 and has led the infrastructure buildout and the expansion of an onshore TS business in China since then. Mr. Xu first joined JPMorgan in 2002 as a TS Sales Manager.


Mr. Xu started his banking career with HSBC in 1996 as an Executive Trainee in the General Management Stream. He has held managerial positions in Trade Finance, Corporate Banking and Branch Banking in Hong Kong. In 1999, he led the first cross-continental processing centralization project for HSBC in Guangzhou, which model was quickly replicated by other business units and Financial Institutions. Between 2004 and 2006, Mr. Xu was Senior Manager, Head of Trade Operations for Royal Bank of Canada in Toronto where he managed 72 Trade Finance professionals coming from 29 countries speaking 35 languages.

Mr. Xu holds a M.B.A. from University of Toronto, Canada and a B.A. in English from Fudan University, China. Prior to his banking career, Mr. Xu was a news presenter at Shanghai Education TV Station between 1994 and 1996.

Mr. Xu speaks native Mandarin and is fluent in English and Cantonese.
