This song comes from a BOMP! label anthology of songs by this 3-piece band that was active between 1964 and 1967. Members were Terry & Larry Tutor, twin brothers who moved to Los Angeles from Dallas Texas, and Robert Dill, the drummer. There is an exhaustive band history on the back sleeve of the record but as you read it it gets weirder and weirder until you realise that someone is pulling your leg. It seemed that at least part of this story was true but I could never work out how much of it and for many years I really couldn't work out what was going on. The mystery was finally solved for me when I received an email response to this post from Terry Tutor himself. He told me that the sleeve notes were deliberately peppered with over-the-top stuff because the band liked the humorous style of the notes on some of the early '60s punk compilations that were coming out at the time and wanted to do something similar. OK! Now I get it at last! The Numbers were clearly a band with a lot of talent and there are some really great songs on the record. This one is probably my favourite. Reminds me a little of 'It's Cold Outside' by The Choir for some reason. These days Terry and Larry Tutor are still playing together in LA as The Bordersnakes. Check them out on Myspace! www.myspace/thebordersnakes

  • @bcarpenter62 Hi there and sorry for not responding sooner. it's good to hear from someone who played with the Tutor brothers. I'm sorry to tell you that I no longer have the album having sold my record collection last year.

  • Not only did I go to DHS with these guys, but I had the privilege to play several, memorable gigs with 'em in 1980. I believe the BOMP anthology was released in late '83 or early '84. Can you post more tunes from that album???

    Thanks so much, doglips 1958!

    Keep on rockin' and rollin...

  • @doglips1958 I went to high school with these guys. We graduated in 81 so sometime around there I suppose

  • @doglips1958 Hi, I'm actually pernicketty but I can't access my account any more since I tried to change my email address. I don't know which year this song came out, sorry, but if you're doing research or something why not try contacting Terry Tutor through his My Space account? You'll find the address in the video description panel above.

  • What year did this come out?

  • Nice tune.Thanks for posting!!!!
