"The beginning of the Iraq war was a moment that no American will ever forget. Nine years later, we remember those who gave their lives, and honor the sacrifice of all the brave women and men who have served our country.
In 2008, Barack made a promise that as President, he would bring the Iraq War to a responsible end—he kept his word. When he took the oath of office, more than 140,000 troops were stationed in Iraq. This past December, the last of our soldiers came home.
Now that our service members are home, we are doing everything we can to support our veterans and their families in the challenging transition to civilian life.
Barack expanded the Veterans Affairs budget and made it possible for more than 500,000 veterans previously denied care to become eligible for VA health care. And he streamlined the claims process to ensure that our veterans can get the high quality benefits and services they've earned -- and get those services more quickly.
Barack helped pass tax credits to encourage small businesses to hire our wounded warriors
We also know that when our men and women in uniform are called to serve, their families serve right along side them. That's why we've been working to expand employment opportunities, job training programs, and wellness services for military spouses and families -- the folks who bear the greatest burden of their loved one's deployment.
In the end, we all have an obligation to support those who have served our country so selflessly—from our veterans with special health needs, to all those seeking to join the civilian workforce, to families coping with the grief of losing a loved one.
So I hope you'll join me in standing up for all those who have served.
Visit BarackObama.com/Veterans to get involved, and to learn about all the ways your President is working to support our veterans and military families.
Thank you."

I just love this family so much. Barack Obama will go down in history as one of the greatest Presidents ever elected. I feel humbled to live in these extraordinary times - with President Barack Obama at the helm. The world looks at us with respect now. I sleep easier. The future is so bright.

We need to remind people that the things that have made life more bearable forveterans, like the very VA hospital system, have been largely the work of Democrats, and that those services have deteriorated under just about every Republican administration after Eisenhower. Preserving those services, especially considering the number of veterans with traumatic brain injuries must remain a national priority.

If you are reading this, you probably support Obama. There is nothing wrong with that. I'm guessing you probably believe in helping the poor and regulation of corporations. You probably hated the 8 awful years of Bush. You are against the wars, but you support the troops. If you really believe in these things, then i'm begging you to type "ron paul" into the Youtube search and PLEASE, just spend 5 minutes learning about the guy. I used to support obama but now I support paul for the SAME REASONS

I remember being ten years old and sobbing when the Iraq War started. It definitely changed my life. Thank you Obama for bringing this war to an end while still respecting those who selflessly fought and served their country in the best way they could. Thank you for now giving our troops the respect they deserve in ending this war. What a blessing!

Iraq war has ended?
Wow this fantastic news must have bypassed me just like all the other fulfilled promises *BARACK* made to us.
Instead trillions of Dollars were given to those who made the ongoing desaster of 2008-2012 (so far) possible.
Not only possible but intentionally made them happen.
Tell me about ONE promise he made in in 2007 and kept?
If you can't please s**u!
