These are my all time favourite death metal songs. All bands are from Sweden with the exception of Kalmah (Finland). Most of these songs are Melodic Death Metal, while others are Progressive Death Metal. The list goes as follows:

@Arpearpearpe For it's Swedish Melodic Death Metal only, besides the bands he mentioned differs with nothing from bands of the rest of the world and Swedish Death Metal is something characteristic in metal scene, there's even a book on Swedish Death Metal by Daniel Ekeroth. Check this book out and you will know what is the real Swedish Death Metal.

Dude, check out the real swedish death metal bands like Entombed, Dismember, Carnage, Unleashed, Edge Of Sanity, Grave etc. and stop calling melodic death/trash metal bands from Sweden 'Swedish Death Metal!'

you should insert "melodic" into your title.
im glad to see kalmah there though, kalmah is my favorite band ever.
