at least at the oscars, no, as lotr won a lot that year(and deservedly so), but the score was nominated for an oscar and many other awards, as were the alison krauss songs.

This is the type of song sang and played by old-timers on a Saturday night. They would get together, invite neighbors to come and bring their instruments to play. Thus, they would sing and dance until the wee hours for entertainment. Most of the time it was the only time they ever saw their neighbors!

@Rachelater117 Hell yeah. In the iron ore mining towns in the Badlands, every Saturday night for us truckers is about poker and whiskey by the keg. Not just truckers, but miners and railroad men join us too. There ain't nothin' better than truckin', drinkin', and singin', and hearing the locomotive horns echoing off the distant mountains.
