yes, you can top a selmer. selmer is the last sax any one should think of buying, their prices are ridiculous for how they play. I played on a series 3, and it did NOT even come close to my Yanagisawa. I have a 900 Silver Yanagisawa. The selmer did not respond as well as my Yani, and the hand position and keys felt very awkward and unnatural. Just my opinion though.

now a Yanagisawa, well, thats a different story!
I have a Super Action 80 Series 2, and its just not impressive. for retail price, not worth it, but my director got it for 100 bucks, so im not complaining! lol, but yeah, if your gonna spen that kind of money, i recommend a Yanagisawa.

It is a SELMAN, not Selmer. Quite a difference I suppose.

lovely sound. Did you say it's a Selmer? can't beat them for saxes. I think nothing can top a Selmer and I get fed up of people trying to say that the new P. Mauriats are on par with Selmer because, hey, they're not a patch - wake up people they are made in Taiwan!! Just had to say that bit but yes, excellent sound

It was a Selma, a much less expensive model which I advertised on Ebay. It was my first soprano sax, and it was difficult to play (which I mentioned in my ad on Ebay). But it was a very good sax on which to learn. It is sold. Thanks for the comments.
