cactus growing near city lake

a few hundred feet off the trail that circles the lake (Salem Lake in Winston-Salem, NC / Forsyth County, NC). This is one of the only places in this area to see naturally occurring cactus. And despite the numbers of people who use the trail, almost no one knows about this small area that has cactus. In this same area is an exposed rock face that resembles Stone Mountain. If you are in the Winston-Salem area be sure to visit Salem Lake and walk on the seven mile trail that goes around the edge of the lake. However, on your first visit don't expect to find the offbeat area from this video. Many people that have visited Salem Lake for years still do not know that it exists.
