Recently I was invited to an art show by a friend who keeps amazing me with her unconvential choices of material, size, and subjects . There seems to be more than meets the eye, you could say. She makes sculpture from a wide range of materials,
one time its broken cups or concrete, another time textile.
Sometimes 2 -, sometimes 3dimensional, but there's always a sense of looking into
a space
with its own dimensions and shapes within
This time I think I saw very colourful strawberry trees, flowers growing out of the wall, like paintings climbing out of their frames, lotuses to look deep down into, and universes with flowers in them, that could just as well be flowers with a universe in them.
It felt sort of like walking inside a Beatles album
After showing her this little clip, Marie Louise told me she loves to plant some of her
works 'in the desert', so to say, as a follow up project. I told her I'd love to film THAT....
