Follow Kris Atwood into a land of comical game people where you'll be chased by an army of chessmen, taunted by a daffy dodo bird, tempted by goodie-gobbling sluggards, and learn about wisdom from a wise old owl. Based on the book of Proverbs, this film is great for kids and families. When young Kris tells Sam Weatherfield, the inventor, about breaking his parents' window and running away, Sam thinks it's time to teach him a little lesson in wisdom. He gets Kris to play a strange, colorful game called Hoomania - one of Sam's inventions. When Kris puts his piece on the board he is suddenly zapped into a wonderful world full of crazy characters, both good and mischievous, who either help or hinder Kris in his race to Mount Wisdom. Through his fantastic adventure, Kris learns that "wisdom" means making responsible choices towards his parents and friends, and an inner desire to please God.
Saw this on a Christian TV station (KNLC-24) in St. Louis area in 1994-95; part of the Family Theatre 2-hour show on Friday nights [sponsored primarily by Pizza Inn, of which only 1 existed in the metro at the time]. When will they have this on DVD? Kids should be learning lessons like this today! Yahweh bless.
